Frequently Asked Questions

Please take a moment to review our Frequently Asked Questions to find dedicated answers to your questions.

  • 1.

Why should you work with TrialBound?

    A:

We are as experienced (if not more) than any paralegal that you would hire on a full-time basis but for a fraction of the cost. By hiring TrialBound, you are saving costs by not paying employee taxes, benefits, vacation time, sick time, and other costs associated with traditional in-house paralegals.

  • 2.

How do you ensure security and compliance with confidentiality rules and data?

    A:

TrialBound paralegals will sign your company’s Non-Disclosures Agreement and abide by all responsibilities and protocols outlined in same.

  • 3.

Explain the process for communication with the attorney’s clients.

    A:

There is absolutely NO communication with the attorneys’ clients unless the attorney requests that communication be made. If communication is requested, TrialBound will carbon copy the attorney.

  • 4.

What expenses should I anticipate paying?

    A:

You should expect to pay the billable rate or the agreed-upon flat rate. The rate is contingent on the time allotted to complete the project and the complexity of the project. In addition, there may be general out-of-pocket operating and administrative costs identical to those you would charge your clients (i.e. postage, mileage, fax, photocopies, long distance telephone charges, court filing fees, courier costs, etc.).

  • 5.

    What about tax liabilities?

    A:

Because TrialBound is a freelance service, you are not required to withhold taxes. TrialBound will provide you with a W-9 form.

  • 6.

What is the difference between a Virtual Paralegal, a Freelance Paralegal, and a Contract Paralegal?

    A:

A Virtual Paralegal is an employee and treated similarly to an in-house paralegal. You are responsible for providing the tools and equipment needed, a normal salary, and the standard insurances. The only difference between a Virtual Paralegal and an in-house paralegal is that the Virtual Paralegal works from home. A Freelance Paralegal and a Contract Paralegal can be used interchangeably. They are hired to complete projects as-needed in a remote setting with no employee benefits.
